Capt Simmon Latutin GC

Inscription

Captain Simmon Latutin, GC (George Cross), Somerset Light Infantry/Somali Gendarnerie.
The son of Jewish immigrants, Simmon lived here from the 1920s till 1940. He was posthumously awarded this highest medal for bravery when attempting to save the lives of three men in a burning barracks in Mogadishu, December 1944.
