This memorial was moved here in December 1962 from Christchurch Greyfriars, Newgate Street, which stands beside the former site of Charles Lamb's school Christ's Hospital.

have a good post on this memorial, saying that Lamb is shown in his school uniform and that Reynolds-Stephens designed not just the bust but also the rather odd niche in which it sits.
