Unveiled by Montgomery in the presence of McFall, Churchill himself and a large crowd. One of only a few statues in London unveiled while the subject was still alive. The others are listed at Fenner Brockway.

Churchill was  MP for Woodford 1945 - 1964 which explains the location of this statue. We thank Jamie Davis for finding  to the British Pathe news film of the unveiling which shows the elderly Churchill arriving.
