Columbia Market gate posts

Site: Columbia Market gate posts (1 memorial)

E2, Columbia Road, Columbia Market Nursery School

Useful though the school might be, you must agree that the building behind these gate piers does not compare favourably with what was there before.

has an image of the market that we believe shows these gate piers. There you can see that originally there were 4 : the outer pair topped with shield-bearing lions; the inner two topped with lanterns.

2022: brought the good news that these gates will be restored.
