Fountain

David Benjamin trough

Inscription

Be kind and mericful to all animals. In memory of David Benjamin, 1815 - 1893

Unusually the dedication is on the side and the Metropolitan Drinking Fountain and Cattle Trough Association credit is squeezed onto the east, left, end.

Site: David Benjamin trough (1 memorial)

W2, Bayswater Road

Bonus nugget: In the background of our photo you can see the block of flats, 3-8 Porchester Gate. Its private drive has an interesting feature; the kerb stones are each marked with a section of white paint, now quite worn. which we think might be a safety feature left over from the WW2 blackout, as shown .
