Dolphin pub

The building boasted (at least) two of these plaques, but this was the only one that we could see in 2015. An odd dolphin, with a tail more like a fountain, he seems to be chomping the waves - we're glad he was retained.

Site: Dolphin pub (1 memorial)

W11, Sirdar Road, Dolphin House

2020: Peter Aylett wrote to us: "My grandfather Percy Aylett owned The Dolphin pub from 1909 to 1920. His family lived upstairs — four children were born there, including my Dad. At you can see me with two of my kids visiting in August 1978. So I was very depressed to find that an important part of my family history was destroyed 6 years ago — but surprised and happy to learn that at least one of the dolphin plaques was saved. Is there any way to find out who has the other one? I would very much like to buy it..." If you can help Peter let us know and we'll pass it on. We've used the Pubwiki photo to illustrate our page for the pub.
