Plaque

Dransfield

Erection date: 2000

Inscription

Rebuilt for Angel Property by S. B. Construction.
Architects: Dransfield Owens de Silva.
2000

Dransfield Owens Design Ltd was founded in 1998 and is still active in 2022. But the website, www.dodsarchitects.com, for the architects given on the plaque, is dead. Seems likely that and were part of the group.

Site: London Post Offices (2 memorials)

SE1, Bermondsey Street, 102

The PO plaque is between the first and second floor windows. The Dransfield plaque is between the second floor and the attic. This apparently random positioning suggests to us that they might be wall tie plates, like this one.

Bermondsey Street is a rather arty place so we wonder if these 2 “plaques” are more structural/art installations, than genuine historical markers.
