Hammersmith & Fulham WW1 flowerbed

Erection date: 20/9/2014

Inscription

In grateful memory of the men and women of Hammersmith & Fulham who gave their lives during the First World War 1914 - 1918.

Unveiled by the Mayor of Hammersmith & Fulham, Councillor Mercy Umeh, 20th September 2014.

Site: Hammersmith & Fulham WW1 flowerbed (1 memorial)

W6, Furnivall Gardens

This might be our first memorial flower-bed. The metal structure in the bed represents the hands on a clock face though this would only really work with flowers creating the rest of the face. The hands clearly don't move and we've always heard that a static clock face, like this one, should have the hands at 10 to 2 (smiley face). They have ignored that rule here so we wonder if the time shown means something? 20 past 8, anyone?
