Plaque

Harry Tate - SM1

Inscription

Harry Tate (1872 - 1940)
Near here stood Camden House, once the home of Harry Tate, from 1920 - 1931. Born Ronald Hutchinson in Scotland in 1872, he adopted Tate as a stage name. He became a music hall star successful in revue and silent films and was one of the first entertainers to broadcast.
Heritage in Sutton
Sutton Leisure Services

The plaque misspells Hutchison and gives Scotland as the place of birth, which contradicts Kennington, given by Wikipedia and ODNB.
