Inscription
{The north face of the plinth is inscribed as follows:}
To the glory of God and in loving memory of the men who gave their lives in the Great War, 1914 - 1919.

2015: We read that the cross is being refurbished. Â 13 or 14 of these names are also on the nearby Highgate Camp memorial. Â Two of the names were the teachers who started the camp and two were sons of former ministers. Â But we don't know which ones.
