Johannah Bailey

Site: Johannah Bailey (1 memorial)

SW12, Cavendish Road

In 2008 this small section of road had been identified as dangerous for cyclists and a formal report had been sent to TfL recommending a redesign. Three years later Johannah was killed here.

From a cycling forum: “One of the first witnesses at the scene lobbied hard for improvements to the appalling layout and signage on this LCN route. Caroline Pidgeon and local councillors got involved but little was done apart from renewing some of the signage. The final conclusion from TfL was that this section of road was not a priority because there had not been enough casualties.”
