{On the plinth for the statue:}
John Bunyan, 1628 - 1688.
{On a tablet placed below the plinth:}
As I walk'd through the wilderness of this world I lighted on a certain place, where was a Denn: & I laid me down in that place to sleep: And as I slept I dreamed a Dream.

The statue is dated 1903.

The listed buildings (2 - 6) was built in 1901-1903. by Arthur Keen, architect for the Baptist Union and restored in 1946.
