Middlesex Hospital and Barnato and Joel

Inscription

The Barnato-Joel Memorial in connection with The Middlesex Hospital.
Built and endowed for cancer patients and cancer research with funds bequeathed by the late Henry I. Barnato in memory of his brother Barnett I. Barnato and his nephew Woolf Joel.
This stone was laid on the 14th July 1910 by H.S.H. Prince Francis of Teck, G.C.V.O. D.S.O.

We had not heard of the Barnato-Joel family before coming across this plaque. If the web can be believed they are a tragic family. Do look up Henry I. Barnato and Woolf Joel at the button 'Subjects Commemorated'.
