Pankhurst Green

Erection date: 5/5/1995

Inscription

This green was named by the worshipful the Mayor of Redbridge Councillor Linda Perham B.A. A.L.A. J.P. on 5th May 1995.

Site: Sylvia Pankhurst - Woodford (2 memorials)

IG8, Charteris Road and Snakes Lane West, Pankhurst Green

The mosaic on the path depicts the leaves of the different trees in the immediate area, with the text "Where We Live 2003" but it does not mention Pankhurst.

2022:  We thank Gerard Greene who contacted us via Facebook to say that Pankhurst Green and the associated plaque were created in 1995 by the London Borough of Redbridge. The 2003 mosaic is not connected to this but was instead created to mark the launch of Redbridge Council's Cultural Strategy.
