Our location shot shows WFC's double-headed eagle on one side of the sculpture. But it's the textured surface which is interesting. We can find very little about it on the web and it seems not to have gained much attention, possibly because it is an unusual and challenging artwork. The Local Guardian describes it as a "plinth" and elsewhere it is a "monolith". It is an attempt to capture a football game in an abstract graphic. Another such work is a diagram showing a cricket game at the John Edrich Gate at the Kennington Oval.

SW19, Plough Lane
informs that a solid oak waterwheel marking the historical significance to the area of the River Wandle was unveiled on the same day. We saw this, further north up Durnsford Road, at the Co-op, in the unnamed access road. But we could see no plaque or text explaining what it was.
