Made for the portico of St Mary-le-Strand but it was never erected there. It has been in Queen Anne's Gate since at least 1708.
Sculptor possibly Francis Bird.

Between houses 13 and 15.   tells us (and has a picture) that frrom at least 1710 a wall stretched across the street at this point and was only taken down in 1873.
