Site: Richard D'Oyly Carte - WC1 (1 memorial)

WC1, Guilford Street, President Hotel

D'Oyly Carte lived at 71 Russell Square, a residence behind the houses fronting onto Russell Square, accessed from Guilford Street. It has an unusual and interesting history - see Bolton House.

Number 71 and many surrounding houses were demolished in 1913-14 for an extension to the Imperial Hotel, which was itself replaced in the 1960s.
