Site: Rowland Hill - NW3 - third erection (1 memorial)

NW3, Rowland Hill Street, Pears Building, Royal Free Hospital

For information about where this plaque has been erected before see Rowland Hill - NW3 - second erection (and stop tittering at the back).

Immediately to the east of the Pears building, the one in our photo, this small garden is apparently a memorial garden but the only memorial we saw (2022) was this plaque.

We were not overly impressed with this designed space. The small garden, as with many modern corporate gardens has about as much hard-standing as nature-friendly soil. The building behind the camera, possibly an ugly services building, has been totally hidden behind fine mesh panels decorated with a subtle tree-scape.  We're sure this looked great initially but already the panels are showing their inability to cope with the weather, their lower edges becoming mucky with dirt or rust, who knows.

The seems to be a hotel designed for use by patients and relatives of patients at the Royal Free.
