We believe a 2-horse carriage pole is the long horizontal bar between the pair of horses that connects them to the body of the carriage.
English Heritage Sydney Monckton Copeman, 1862-1947, immunologist and developer of smallpox vaccine, lived here.
In our photo the plaque can be seen above the head of the passer-by on the right.
We can't find evidence but it seems likely that when owned by the Jesus Hospital Charity the Tudor Hall was used as almshouses.
