Sir Arthur Crosfield

Inscription

This stone commemorates Sir Arthur Crosfield of Witanhurst, 1865 - 1938, who led the campaign between 1918 and 1925 to preserve the Kenwood estate from development. His heroic work in raising funds and in persuading others to support & contribute to his cause helped to save Kenwood and make it a source of inspiration and delight for future generations.

This unusual EH plaque is the work of Richard Kindersley.
