Sir Henry Cole lived here 1879 - 1880. He originated the custom of sending Christmas cards and was largely responsible for the foundation of the Kensington Museum. He was also a great postal reformer.

The plaque is in Beech Hall Road, on the side of the building.

The plaque is not clear about what was constructed. The piers look original so we guess it was just the gates themselves.
Wyndham's Theatre was built for Mary Moore and Charles Wyndham in 1899. Architect W.G. Sprague.
The Duke's name crops up quite often around here. Not surprising given his German background and the large German community.
