{Plaque on the left hand side of the plinth:}
This plaque was unveiled on 1 April 2004 by Her Majesty the Queen accompanied by His Royal Highness the Duke of Edinburgh in celebration of Harrow's 50 years as a borough.

{Plaque on the right hand side of the plinth:}
Katie by James Butler R.A. unveiled by the Mayor of Harrow Councillor Miss Christine Bednell and the Maire de Douai Monsieur Jacques Vernier on the 2nd May 1987.

The inspiration for the statue was the sculptor's daughter Kate skipping in the garden. It was created to celebrate the opening of the new pedestrian area. Harrow twinned with Douai in France in 1979.
