Site: St Albans church Chiswick - foundation stone (1 memorial)

W4, South Parade, Acton Green, St Albans church

Also called St Alban the Martyr, designed by Edward Monson Jr. and opened in 1888.

Pevsner commented: 'The view of the church from the Green is unfortunately obscured by the temporary church hall and club buildings (the latter in green painted corrugated iron).'  This is an example of a 'tin tabernacle' - few survived so they are highly valued by some.  It was erected here for use in mission services run by All Saints, South Acton until 1938.

The church  closed in 2011 but reopened in 2014, following a failed attempt to convert it into flats.
