St Lawrence Jewry - weather vane

The weather vane depicts a grid-iron, the instrument used for the torture which led to the martyrdom of St Lawrence. The shaft supporting the grid-iron is apparently part of the WW2 incendiary bomb which caused the church to be burnt out.
