St Luke's West Norwood war memorial - WW1 & WW2

Inscription

{On the base of the Monument:}
1914 1919
1939 1945

The steps of the church are a popular meeting place for devotees of the brewing industry. It's rather ironic that just down the way is a fountain dedicated to temperance campaigner Mrs Woodford Fawcett.

Site: St Luke's Church - West Norwood (4 memorials)

SE27, Norwood High Street, 13

In our photo the railing replacement plaque can just be seen on the low wall to the left of the steps. The Memorial Garden plaque is on the other side of the steps but is almost obscured by foliage. The panels with the WW1 list of names are behind the two central columns of the peristyle, and the war memorial cross is to the left of the white van.
