On this site stood Stoke Newington Manor House c. 1500 - 1695 and the terrace called Church Row 1695-1700 - 1936.

The dates suggest that the terrace was built on the site of the Manor House and that in 1936 the terrace was replaced by the Town Hall.  That's confirmed by .
