The Rookery 1913 - 2013
This plaque was unveiled by Cllr. Mark Bennett, Mayor of Lambeth, on 23rd July 2013 to commemorate the centenary of the opening of the Rookery Gardens on 23rd July 1913 following a campaign led by Stenton Covington to acquire the site for public use.

In our photo you can see the plaque above the sundial, fixed to the wall.

The campaign led by Covington purchased the land linking Norwood Grove and The Rookery and an additional 32 acres. The Rookery lies within Lambeth; the rest, Norwood Grove, is in Croydon.
