{Plaque at right of base:} Thomas Cubitt, 1788 - 1855, this sculpture commemorates the life and work of Thomas Cubitt, master builder and developer of Belgravia and Pimlico, his workshops were close to this site, which was generously donated by Sanctuary Housing Association, the sculpture by William Fawke was unveiled by His Grace the Duke of Westminster, OBE, TD, DL, 23rd May 1995.
