Twinned with Amsterdam

Erection date: 2/12/1993

Inscription

London Liverpool Street twinned with Amsterdam Centraal. December 2, 1993.

The two stations are at either end of the Dutchflyer rail-ferry service, via Harwich.

Site: Twinned with Amsterdam (1 memorial)

EC2, Liverpool Street , Liverpool Street Station

Maybe not strictly a memorial but it is colourful and we now have an excuse to visit Amsterdam, to collect its twin. And we've pretended it is commemorating the 700 anniversary of Amsterdam so we can link through to the plaque in Westminster.

In the main picture you can actually see three of this station's memorials: the huge WW1 monument and the twinning with the East Anglians immediately above.
