of the 2nd Walworth (Dulwich Mission) troop of Baden Powell's boy scouts
and Frank Masters aged 14 of the training ship "Arethusa"
who were drowned off Leysdown on 4th of August 1912.
The plaque is actually a resin copy of the one that was attached to the original memorial for the Walworth Scouts drowned at Leysdown. The memorial and plaque were stolen in 1969 and were presumed to have been melted down. The plaque however turned up at a scrap dealer's in 2003 and was acquired by the Friends of Nunhead Cemetery.

This ruined chapel contains 3 memorials related to the Walworth Boy Scouts Tragedy.  This tragedy's main memorial  (the remains of the original and the replacement) is located further into the cemetery by the war graves' section.
