Inscription

Joseph Allen Baker MP laid this memorial stone on behalf of the Bedford Institute Association XI . VI . MDCCCCX {11.6.1910} to commemorate the beneficent labours of the late William Isaac Palmer in the promotion of temperance among the people.

Both plaques are in very good condition with crisp inscription which suggests either that they have previously been indoors or that they have recently been restored. The stylised lettering is very 1910.
