Winston Churchill - Sussex Square

Inscription

Sir Winston Churchill lived in a house on this site, 1921 - 1924.

Site: Winston Churchill - Sussex Square (1 memorial)

W2, Sussex Square, 3

From the we learn that in 1921 Churchill's private secretary paid a deposit on 7 Sussex Mews East, which is in the mews behind this house but on the other side of the mews and about 4 houses further to the north. Perhaps this was for the chauffeur. The houses in the Square and the Mews have all been redeveloped, mainly in the 60s.
