Zeppelin

Inscription

On the night of the eighth of September 1915 a Zeppelin bomb fell and exploded on this spot. Although nearly 1000 people slept in the surrounding buildings no person was injured.

We are familiar with the "pensioner crosses road" syndrome in local newspapers but this is our first sighting of it in a plaque.

WC1, Queen Square

This round paved area looks at first sight as if it used to surround a water fountain, long gone, but it actually holds a little gem of a plaque.
