Andrew Clive Gilbert was born in 1962 and was originally from Ipswich, Suffolk. He was married with children and lived in Califon, New Jersey, USA.

He was an employee of Cantor Fitzgerald and died, aged 39 years, on 11 September 2001 whilst working in company's offices located on Floors 101-105, North Tower, 1 World Trade Centre, Manhattan, New York, USA.

Our information about the Ipswich origins of Andrew and Timothy comes from the . Confusingly the picture source states that Andrew was born in Chicago, Illinois, but agrees with the Guardian on Timothy's birthplace.

2025: We are grateful to Jonathan Dance who contacted us to say: "Andrew and Timothy Gilbert and their siblings Howard, Bill, Ellen and Colin, did indeed come from Ipswich. Andrew and Timothy attended Saint Joseph's school with me in the 1970s and into the early 1980s. They were both very talented rugby players winning a number of regional and national competitions in their age groups."
