First match of association football

The first official game played to Football Association rules took place in Battersea Park. It was played between teams selected by the President (Arthur Pember) and the Secretary (Ebenezer Cobb Morley) of the FA. The game ended 2-0 to the President’s XIV.

Seems the game is commemorated every four years, though the game played to celebrate the 150th anniversary was extra-special.
