Gunner Reginald George Henry Pullen

Reginald George Henry Pullen was born on 14 August 1911 the eldest of the six children of George Henry Pullen (1889-1950) and Rose Mary Pullen née Bailey (1891-1980). The birth of George Pullen was registered in the 3rd quarter of 1911 in the Croydon registration district, Surrey (now Greater London). His five siblings were: Douglas Frederick Pullen (1912-1984); Lawrence James Pullen (1913-1914); Violet Everlyn Pullen (1916-2007); George Victor Raymond Pullen (1919-2008) and Olive Winifred Pullen (1920-1999). His father was described as a cafe proprietor in the 1939 England and Wales Register.

He married Rosetta Ellen Mansfield (1910-1988) in the 3rd quarter of 1938 in the Bromley registration district, Kent (now Greater London).

In the 1939 England and Wales Register he is described as a junior laboratory assistant and a member of the British Red Cross, living at 123 Mackenzie Road, Beckenham, Kent (now Greater London), with his wife.

He was serving as a Gunner in the 137th Field Regiment, Royal Artillery, service number 1099794, when he died, aged 30 years, on 16 February 1942, in Ampang, Malaya (now called Malaysia). As he has no known grave he is commemorated on , Kranji War Cemetery, 9 Woodlands Road, Singapore 738656.

He is shown as 'PULLEN, R.G.H.' on the Penge war memorial at Penge Recreation Ground, High Street, London, SE20. He is also commemorated on the .
