Ian Clive Thompson

United Kingdom citizen who died in the terrorist attacks in America on 11 September 2001.

Clive Thompson was born on 5 July 1958 in Cyprus and was known to everyone as Ian. In 1987 he married Lucy E. Nunes Carvalho in Surrey and they had two daughters, Ella Catherine Thompson (b.1988) and Rachel Laura Thompson (b.1991).

In 1992 they left England, moving to New York, USA to enable him to work at EuroBrokers Inc. and eventually they settled down in Summit, New Jersey, USA. It was here that he joined the Summit First Aid Squad as a volunteer emergency medical technician whilst his wife worked in real estate. He also opened up a cleaning business on the side, Albright Carpet Care.

In 1993 he was working on the 34th Floor in the North Tower, 1 World Trade Centre, Manhattan, New York, USA and successfully evacuated when a bomb exploded in the basement car park.

He died, aged 43 years, on 11 September 2001 whilst working at EuroBrokers on the 84th Floor, South Tower, 2 World Trade Centre, Manhattan, New York, USA.
