Lutfur Rahman

Born Bangladesh. First directly elected Mayor of Tower Hamlets, 2010. In 2015 he was found to be "personally guilty" of "corrupt or illegal practices, or both" and was removed from office.

After forming the new Aspire party, he returned as Mayor of Tower Hamlets in 2022.
