Mill Hill Estate

provides a good history: Richard White's widow sold the estate in 1859 and the fields north of the big house were developed (Mill Hill Road) while the house and grounds were occupied by a mercantile wool broker and his family.  "Acton Hill House, the property together with its grounds was sold in December 1877 to the builder and property developer °Â¾±±ô±ô¾±²¹³¾Ìý°Â¾±±ô±ô±ð³Ù³Ù." Shortly after the house was partly demolished and modified to be much as it is now.  Also the grounds were developed into residential streets - the Mill Hill Estate of high quality housing.

Our picture shows Mill Hill Park Conservation Area - all the streets except Mill Hill Road were developed from the Acton Hill House grounds.
