Rev. John Ravenhill

Rector of St Nicholas Tooting Graveney in 1828 when the school was rebuilt and enlarged.

From : "There was a sad ending to this festive day, as within two hours of the consecration {of the church on 14 February 1833}, the venerable and benevolent rector, Dr. Ravenhill, died suddenly from apoplexy. He was eighty-two years of age, and very infirm, and for a few days before had been in a precarious state." and "In the south transept is a monument: 'In memory of the Rev John Ravenhill D.D. aged 79 years, having been Rector of this parish 28 years, he died beloved and lamented on the 14th of Feby 1833 the same day on which this church was consecrated to the service of Almighty God.' His remains  were interred in a vault under the site of the old church in which he ministered."
