Royal Thames Yacht Club

Oldest royal yacht club in the UK (which raises the question of how many are there?) Also known as the Cumberland Fleet, it was founded by the Duke of Cumberland. Traditionally the Commodore is a member of the royal family.  Earl Mountbatten was Commodore for 20 years; Prince Charles held the post for a time and today (2012) the Club's Commodore is HRH Prince Andrew. It looks like it's also traditional for the Commodore to move on to be Admiral, since both Mountbatten and Prince Charles have taken that route.
