Oldest royal yacht club in the UK (which raises the question of how many are there?) Also known as the Cumberland Fleet, it was founded by the Duke of Cumberland. Traditionally the Commodore is a member of the royal family. Earl Mountbatten was Commodore for 20 years; Prince Charles held the post for a time and in 2012 the Club's Commodore was someone known at the time as Prince Andrew. By October 2025 he was no longer in that role and no longer had that title. It looks like it's also traditional for the Commodore to move on to be Admiral, since both Mountbatten and Prince Charles have taken that route, though Andrew never made it beyond Vice Admiral.
