Sir John Rennie

Categories: Engineering

Sir John Rennie

Civil engineer. Born 27 Stamford Street. In London, worked on Waterloo, Southwark and London Bridges. President of the Institute of Civil Engineers, 1845-8. Died at Bengeo, near Hertford.

Easy to confuse with his father of the same name, also a civil engineer. The father did the design work on a number of projects which the son saw through to construction. The name panel at IC may refer to either.
