His elder brother, Steven A. Nind, was born in 1954 and his younger sister, Julie Nind, was born in 1962.

In 1981 he married Shirley A. Williamson in the Camberwell registration district.

He was a volunteer worker for Disability Action Sutton that was based at Sutton West Centre, Robin Hood Lane, Sutton, SM1 2SD and was their Honorary Treasurer.

On 12 December 1996 he was appointed as a director of The Sutton Shopmobility Charity Company and on 1 April 1997 as a director of the Sutton Borough Citizens Advice Bureaux. On both of these appointments he was recorded as a retired retail business manager living at Plum Cottage, 167 Erskine Road, Sutton, SM1 3BN.

He suffered a heart attack and died, aged 41 years, on 15 August 1998 and was buried on 28 August 1998 at Sutton Cemetery, Alcorn Close, Sutton, SM3 9PX.

2023: Laura Kelsey kindly sent the photo and added: "Tony Nind and his best friend at the time of his death, my late father Brian Guiver, also a member of DAS, did 'Walk for Wheels' together in 1995, walking the length of Hadrian's Wall with Shirley Nind, which was amazing as Tony had his heart problems, Shirley was in a wheelchair and Brian had Post polio syndrome."
