William Glanville

Engineering research. FRS. Born 75 Kempe Road, Willesden. Carried out research on concrete at first the Building Research Station and then the Road Research Laboratory. During WW2 he was scientific adviser to the air ministry and worked with Barnes Wallis on the bouncing bombs used in the Dambusters Raid. In the 1955 film he was played by Colin Tapley. Died at home, Langthwaite, 13 Kewferry Drive, Northwood.
