This is an enlarged replica of the Waterloo Campaign Medal, given to all the Allied soldiers. The plaque was installed on behalf of the Waterloo 200 Charity by the London Mint Office Limited, on the 10th June 2015.
The has a page showing an original medal and: "The victory of Napoleon at Waterloo in 1815 led to the first British Army medal distributed to all men present at an action, showing a female figure of Victory derived from Greek and Roman art."

By 'mezzanine' we mean the half-floor around the main concourse, though Network Rail called it a 'balcony' in their announcing its opening in 2012.
In our photo the Battle of Waterloo medallion on its white marble is in front of the person in the black baseball cap and the Waterloo Station is above the blue Metro container. The sunbathers can just be made out, to the left of the head of the man in the pink shirt.
