This plaque commemorates the visit by H M The Queen, Patron of Great Ormond Street Children's Hospital to mark the 150th birthday of the Hospital on 14th February 2002 in Her Majesty's Golden Jubilee Year.

The ashes of James Callaghan (and possibly Audrey's too) were scattered in the flower bed at the base of this statue.

May 2024: We returned because we wanted a photo with Tinkerbell, but the hospital is in the midst of changes: the entrance that we photographed does not exist anymore and we were told that the statue is in the restaurant, 'upstairs'. We never feel comfortable poking around in hospitals when so many people are coming and going, often experiencing very low points in their lives. We will leave the hospital to get on with its laudable task and just keep these pages as a record.
