Plaque

Holborn Town Hall - RAF

Inscription

{At the top:}
Per ardua ad astra

{Beside our hero's right foot:}
McM

. . . - . . .- . . . - {the Morse code for V, i.e. Victory}

{At the bottom, above the RAF insignia:}
War Savings Campaign 1943
Presented by the Air Ministry in recognition of successful achievement in Wings for Victory Week

agree with our thoughts that the “McM” probably indicates the artist but report that even the De La Rue archivist cannot identify the person.
