In memory of those London Welsh RFC players who lost their lives in the 1914 - 18 World War.
{A list of 23 names in alphabetical sequence each with the man's dates.}

Unusually the plaque gives the birth and death years for each name.

From a we learn that altogether 13 Welsh-capped players died in the war, 5 of whom also played for the London Welsh club.

At the London Welsh were joined by the Welsh Guards and the Mayor of Richmond.

has this building described as "Old Deer Park sports ground pavilion. Two storey brick and concrete modern flat-roofed pavilion designed by Frank Saunders & Partners, formed by six interlinked blocks set at angles, three cranked to face cricket pitch to west (southernmost with protruding viewing balcony), three in line facing archery ground to north. Metal windows throughout, some areas of exposed grey brick, others concrete or white timber cladding.
