Site: Royal Exchange - 2 statues (2 memorials)

EC3, Threadneedle Street

See the gate in our photo? have provided a brief history of the Royal Exchange building and examined this gate in detail. There we learn that the splendid ironwork was provided by H. & M. D. Grissell, the 1841-58 partnership of Henry and his brother Martin De La Garde Grissell. We think this is the Henry Grissell who was on the Parochial schools committee for Holy Trinity, Hoxton. The dates and location are right.
