Olive Morris 2

Inscription

Olive Morris 1952 - 1979
This building is dedicated to the memory of Olive Morris. Olive was a key figure in Lambeth local history and the founder of the Brixton Black Women's Group.
"My heart will always be in Brixton".

The inscription is on a window and consequently is very difficult to photograph.

Site: Olive Morris (2 memorials)

SW2, Brixton Hill, 18, Olive Morris House

2019: reported that plans to redevelop the building had raised concerns that Olive Morris might be left with no memorial.

2024: A post in made us aware that the building has been demolished. Its replacement boasts a new plaque to Morris. We must get along there and capture it.
